What do you think it was used for?
Once upon a time, something amazing happened at the University of Cambridge - they created the world's first webcam! But, it wasn't used for taking pictures and having online lessons like our webcams today.
It was used to watch a coffee pot! The people at the university wanted to spend less time looking to see if there was coffee. So, they started using a camera to watch the coffee pot! People could look at the webcam on their computers to see if the coffee was ready. It was a fun way to use technology, and that's how the first webcam was invented!
