Narrative by slides: the story in the simplest possible form

Pranky Panda is busy pulling pranks and has made all the animals float away with a sprinkle of magic stardust! Jessica and Tom are on a mission to bring back Pranky Panda and stop the stardust from working so that all the animals can be returned to their biomes.

Slides 1-4: Lesson introduction and warm-up discussion about pranks and magic potions (asleep, awake, frightened, brave, strong, weak, happy, sad dust).
Slides 4-9: Story introduction - we discover that Pranky Panda has been pulling pranks and that the stardust is missing. The mission is to bring Pranky Panda home and stop the stardust from working. We think about what the stardust may do.
Slide 10: Introduction to grammar ‘there is a/there are’.
Slides 11-13: Discussion slides to think about what Pranky Panda will do with the stardust (make the animals float) and to create an action plan to stop him.
Slide 14: Where’s Wally activity.
Slides 15-17: Speaking practice using ‘there is a/there are’ and introduction to animals (panda, lion, snake, kangaroo, dolphin, shark, bear). Panda sprinkles the stardust and makes the animals float.
Slides 18-23: Solving riddles using clues to stop the stardust from working and introduction to biomes (in the forest, in the savannah, in the sea).
Slides 24-26: Lesson reflections and congratulations for mission completion.
Slides 27-31: Goodbye slide and extension activities.
