Lesson outcomes

 

  1. Vocab: pronouns (I, he, she, they, it, we).                            

2. Grammar: action verbs (run, walk, jump, clap, dance, sing)

Narrative by slides: The Story / narrative in the simplest possible form:

The heroes are helping a farmer look after his vegetables, when a villainous rubbish bin turns them all into zombie vegetables. The heroes have to complete a series of tasks to return the vegetables back to normal.

5-10: Story introduction - the heroes are helping the farmer water his vegetables.

11-12: The villain appears and turns the vegetables into "zombies". All except one run away.

13-16: Battle #1 - using the verbs jump and walk, turn the first zombie vegetable back to normal.

17-23: The heroes go to find the other vegetables.

24-26: Introduce full sentences: I/we can run/walk/jump, with vertical slide for practice if necessary)

27-32: Battle #2 - use full sentences, e.g. 'I can run. We can walk.'

33-35: Introduce pronouns they, he and she

36: Full sentences with they, he, she (plus vertical extra practice slides if necessary)

37-38: Introduce verb "clap"

39-47: Battle #3 - full sentences

48-51: The heroes find a compass, but it is stuck in the mud.

52-59: The heroes meet a robot. Introduce pronoun "it" and verb "dance".

60-68: The heroes buy a hoover and use it to clean up the mud and rescue the compass.

69-73: Introduce verb "sing" and go to find the other zombie vegetables.

74-93: Final two battles (full sentence practice). The heroes win a key.

94-98: The heroes look for where to use the key, and discover the villain escaping through a secret door.
